TRANSPARENCY
WE'RE DOING OUR BEST!
The following is where we know we are falling short of our sustainability goals. Unfortunately, this happens for a number of reasons: environmentally friendly materials aren't available or affordable, green manufacturing processes don't exist yet, or some things are just plain out of our control.

Epoxy: While we use one of the least detrimental options available, it still releases some VOCs.

MANUFACTURING
ENERGY
While some of our suppliers use various sources of renewable energy to create our raw materials, we currently cannot afford the luxury. Fortunately, being based in a greener city like Seattle, our government and utility companies do a decent job harnessing more sustainable power sources (84% hydro, 5% nuclear, 4% wind).
EQUIPMENT
Most of our operations rely on electricity (sewing, drilling, sawing, etc.), however we do our die-cutting (cardboard inserts, cat toy fabric shapes) with a human-powered press.
Before purchasing new equipment, we research the company's history regarding quality, durability, and sustainability. Unfortunately, most manufacturers don't seem to care too much about eco-friendliness, so we rely on their track records of the other two attributes and hope the equipment will last, so we don't have to detriment the planet by purchasing more.
